EVENT: BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN UTHM

One of student donate their blood.

On 4^th October 2013, University Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia had organized blood donation campaign. This event was held at Padang Kawat UTHM and it was one of the activities that have been arranged for the Student Activity Carnival UTHM 2013. Beside blood donation campaign, there are many others interesting program that have been organized.

Here are some of conversations about this event:

1^st INTERVIEW

Me: Assalamualaikum. First of all, can you introduce yourself?

Nadia: Assalamualaikum w.b.t, I’m Nur Nadia Mahadi. I’m from Mechanical Engineering And Manufacturing Faculty.

Me: Can I know who organized for this event?

Nadia :This event are organize by UTHM. Other than that, we collaboration with Hospital Nora Ismail, Johor.

Me: So, how the support from student and staff UTHM for this event?

Nadia : Ohh. It’s great and excellent. I don’t know how to say about this because we don’t expect from our student. They give a good collaboration and I think blood donation is good for student to donate their blood and support the blood bank.

Me: Thank you for the cooperation.

2^ND INTERVIEW

Me: First of all, can you introduce yourself?

Mr Goh : My name is Mr Goh Ching Foo. I work as Medical Lab Technologist, Pathology Department of Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

Me: Based on your opinion, how about the responses from the student and staff UTHM about this campaign?

Mr Goh: On this morning, we get good responses even though the weather is hot. How about the target of blood packet for this campaign? Actually, when we carried out mobile blood campaign, we expected more than 40 donator. Based from the responses at this time, I think we achieved our target because from this morning around 50 to 60 donator.

Me: For the last question, what your expectation for this campaign?

Mr Goh: We from hospital staff, hope that people can donate their blood because it will help the patient that need blood for emergency cases at hospital.

3^rd INTERVIEW

Me: Assalamualaikum. First of all, can you introduce yourself?

Afifah: My name is Che Ku Afifah. I’m from Electrical Engineering Faculty.

Me: So, how you got the information about this blood donation campaign?

Afifah shows her blood donation card.

Afifah: Actually I got the information for this event from my friend, Idham Hadi.

Me: When is the suitable time to organize this event?

Afifah: I think in 1 year we can organize this event aroud 2 or 3 times.

Me: So for the last question, do you have any recommendation or suggestion about this event?

Afifah: I think everyone should donate their blood because its good for our health beside we can help other person. I hope everyone can take this chance because we can help other people to save their live.

Event : Vice Chancellor's Award And Dean's Certificate Ceremony

Assalamualaikum and Hye to everyone... !!

On 2nd October, 2013 was held a very prestigious event which was organized by the Faculty Of Civil Engineering And Environmental ( FKAAS ), University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia ( UTHM ). This event are specially organized for the students of the Faculty Of Civil Engineering And Environmental who scored CGPA 3.5 and above in session 2012/2013. This ceremony is also to celebrate the graduates who have excelled academically and was awarded the deputy vice-chancellor.

This ceremony was officiated by Prof. Madya Dr. Abd Halid Bin Abdullah which is the dean of the Faculty Of Civil Engineering And Environmental. The main purposed of this ceremony is to celebrate and give recognition to those who have been successful and strive due to achieve academic with excellence.

There are 60 student who received the Vice-Chancellor's Award and 603 students get the Dean's List for Semester 1 and 867 students get Dean's List for Semester 2 for session 2012/2013.

Besides that, I can see almost 200 guest are attending to celebrate this event. There are from the lecturer and staff. The tentative of the program is as the picture besides. There are also put the Lucky Draw segments so that it can make the students enjoy and happy with the event I can see almost 20 hamper provided to the luckiest students.

Other than that, the students who get the Dean's List are not received their certificate during the event held. But, they have to collect their certificate at the main office in the faculty. In addition, I'm the one who get the Dean's List. hehe..Yeah!!!! See!!! I got 2 certificate. Alhamdullilah.. Besides that, all the receiver also will be given a gift as a souvenir. Before I end this report, I hope that my colleagues and I will be listed as a Dean's List for each semester in the future and will receive the Vice-Chancellor's Award on our convocation day.
