Event : Convocation Of CIAST
Assalamualaikum and Hye to every one..!!!
On 27th October 2013, I'm attending the convocation for a Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) which is held at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak, SUK Selangor. The convocation has divided into two session. Morning Session and Evening Session. Through my observation, almost 500 guest attending to the convocation to celebrate their relative's convocation. This ceremony begins with a registration of the graduate at 7.30 to 8.00 am. At 8.30, all the guests and parents began to go into the auditorium and took a seat available. Then exactly 9.00 am, the VIP's coming into the auditorium. The VIP was Y.Bhg. Datuk Dr. Phang Chau Leong, Director General of the Department of Skills Development.
The main purpose of this event is to celebrate the graduates and also award them with diplomas and certificate. There are four types of the graduate which are for the VTO, DLPV, SKM+VTO and DKM. VTO stands for Vocational Training Officer, DLPV is Diploma Lanjutan Pengajar Vokasional, SKM+VTO is Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia + Sijil Tenaga Pengajar and DKM is for Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia. Event : Cross Country (Second Edition - Perwira Residential College)
Perwira
Residential College had organized Cross Country 2nd Edition event on 27th
October 2013. This event are compulsory for all student who stay at Perwira
Residential College. The registration for this event started at 7.30 a.m. and
all student provided with bread and mineral water as their breakfast. For this semester, the principal of Perwira
Residential College had introduced 4 team called as Scarlet, Aerolin, Harlequin,
and Azure. Every student have their own team.
The
principal of Perwira Residential College, Dr Afandi Bin Ahmad had finish the opening of this event in front of Block A of the residential college.
Before start running, all the participant had warm-up and stretching their body
to avoid spasm. All participants started running at 9:00 am started by male
student and followed by female student. The distance of this cross country
around 10km from Perwira Residential College.
Around
10.30 am all the participants had finished their running. The first 20
participant that finished their running had received medal and hamper. Beside
that, each of attendance will give 1 point to their team. For the overall
result, the winner is Scarlet team.

introduce yourself?
Shafie : My
name is Mohd Shafie bin Nemmang, from Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Have you ever joined cross country before this?
Shafie : This
is my first time joined this event.
Me :
I can see, you got a medal. Can you share your experience?
Shafie :
Actually, I’m not expected to win, just want to run. My experience while
running, little bit tired and I got no 11th.
Me :
Ok, lastly. From you opinion, are you agree that this kind of event are
good for the future or not?
Shafie : For
me, this kind of event are good and can build a spirit of friendship among
students in Perwira.

Event : Convocation Carnival
Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia Convocation Day was held on 5 October until 7 October 2013. The ceremony was held at Sultan Ibrahim Hall, UTHM. Your Highness of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar as the chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia condescend to finish the promulgation ceremony of the new convocation hall of Universiti Tun Husssein Onn Malaysia also known as Sultan Ibrahim Hall. Almost 3520 student was involved in receiving their certificates covered all stage of study such as Doctor Philosophy, Master, Degree and Diploma.
The vice chancellor of UTHM, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Noh Dalimin had finish the opening ceremony of Convocation Feast that was held on 2 October 2013 at the UTHM Marching Field.
Many people came to the Convocation Feast site to see the glorious of the feast. A lot of seller also participate to sell their product such as food and beverages, clothes, plants, perfumes and many more. Majority of the seller that participate on this event was students, staffs and public residence around Parit Raja, Batu Pahat and Kluang.
The Koperasi UTHM Berhad was the event management that been appointed to manage this carnival. Therefore, Koperasi UTHM Berrhad had prepared about 380 lot of stalls to be rented for 7 days.
This is the interview from one of the seller that involved in the carnival.
Hidayah : Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and good evening. Today, I will interview one of the seller at this convocation feast.
Hidayah: Madam, could you introduce yourself.
Seller: I yam or Tukiam binti Yusof. I am from Coway Malaysia.
Hidayah: Madam, how much the university charge you for one booth rental?
Seller: We had be informed that the charge for one lot of the booth is RM900 at the middle and RM1000 for the corner booth.
Hidayah: Is it for one week?
Seller: Yes, it is for one week.
Hidayah: Can you tell us how did you know about this event?
Seller: We in this business line very alert for any news, so we got the information from friends, internet, from advertisement that spread. We really want to join this event.
Hidayah: So, from the variety of your product, which one get the most attraction from the customers?
Seller: So far, our product is the product that people need, so Coway which meant Cooperation Way is to bring wellness. So the consumer goods in Coway have 4 things which is air filter, water filter, toilet use and shower. All these is advance product because this product come from Korea where in Korea, this product already known for almost 30 years and had been done with specific researched complete with R&D. Korea is the second producer of water filter in the world after US. So, what we target here is water and air filter.
Hidayah: So, how about the response that you get from the customer so far?
Seller: When we talked about consumer goods, we target all kind of people either new bridal or family. So the most response I get is for water filter and some for air filter. But water filter is something that people like to compare with other brand in the market. When they use the local product, they had waste their money because after a few years, they will change to other product. But they already know from he advertisement and internet, that Coway is the best product. Many sectors had used our product either government or private.
Hidayah: So one of the reasons why people attract to this product is because the product is already established.
Seller: Yes, right!
Hidayah: What is your sales target for this event?
Seller: Actually, we came by a group from our office in Kluang. 4 of us target to sell 10 units each of us which meant 40 units.
Hidayah: This is my last question, what is your hope from the university for the improvement for future convocation fest?
Seller: Improvement... so far it’s already good. What I can say is, I want to join this kind of event every year. Congratulation to UTHM and this is my hometown, I am very proud of UTHM.

Event : Opening UTHM Convocation Festival
On 5th October 2013, UTHM was celebrating 13th convocation ceremony. On 1st October 2013 (Tuesday), there is a convocation festival also known as ‘Pesta Konvo’ where a lot of booth that sells various types such as cloths, bags, foods, awareness booth and others. This festival was going on for one week which is until 7th October 2013. The opening ceremony of UTHM convocation festival is on 2nd October 2013 at 9.00 pm by Vice Chancellor of UTHM, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Noh Bin Dalimin.
This is the tentative of the program:
8.00 pm - Guest arrivals
8.30 pm - The arrivals of UTHM Vice Chancellor.

- Live band performing from Angkatan Tentera Malaysia
- Opening speech by Vice Chancellor
- Gimmick opening
- Fireworks showing
- Flag off convoys

- Banquet for guests
10.30 pm - Disperse
The event was very prestige, successful and following the tentative. The response from audience which is not only UTHM students and staffs, but its also open to public are also good. Here is the few picture of the event.
Before the opening ceremony event, I have interview Muhd Amir Hamzah which is part of the committee association with residential college.
Me : Assalammualaikum . So, first can you introduce yourself?
Amir : Ok. My name is Muhd Amir Hamzah Bin Ahmad Zamri. I’m from College Kediaman Perwira
which is part of the convocation festival committee.
Me : Ok, firstly I want to ask, how long is take to prepare this preparation?
Amir : Ok, actually for this convocation festival, basic two weeks times to prepare of this.
Me : Who involve in this event?
Amir : For that question, the answer is originally MPP is main acting of this convocation festival with association of college committee.
Me : When the preparation is start?
Amir : During this one week.
Me : What is your hope for this event?
Amir : Alright, in the future, I hope this event will going on and improve from time to time because there is still a lot must be accounted. For example, time punctuality and team work between each other.

Faruok : My name is Prebet Faruok Bin Ahmad Fadhli.
Me : How long its take for this show performing?
Faruok : Around half an hour.
Me : How many involved in this show?
Faruok : Only 18 people involved and all are male.

Faruok : I come from Kem Majidee Johor Bahru.
Me : Lastly, what is your hope?
Faruok : My hope is can be better from time to time.
